Inspiration

I was inspired to create this image when someone placed a duck on my jeep door. “I was ducked!” Everything inside of me felt seen and chosen. It’s silly really, but the simple act of being chosen feels good. 

Do you remember how it felt sitting on the floor, in a circle of peers waiting to be picked? Every person getting tapped, “Duck, Duck,Duck,…Goose!” Oh the thrill being the one that is finally chosen.

What does it mean to be chosen by God?

We aren’t sitting on the floor in a circle anymore, but we are all still sitting with that same anxious voice, “Please pick me!”. We want to believe and feel that we are special, unique, and chosen. And you are!

Being chosen by God doesn't necessarily mean that you are better than anyone else. Instead, it means that you have a unique role and purpose in this world. You have been given special gifts and talents that are meant to be shared and discovered with others. You weren’t an afterthought or an accident, you were created on purpose!

Embracing your uniqueness

Learn to embrace your uniqueness and accept yourself while recognizing the value that you bring to this world and this life. Love learning how to become confident in your abilities and how to use them to make a positive impacts on those around you. Don’t be afraid to stand out, just honk!

Chosen and Supported

Finding a true friend in this world is a gift. We were and are created by God to have relationships. We all go through seasons that feel lonely and are left wondering, “Will anybody choose me?”. Hang in there and just keep honking. The things that make you, you will begin to be heard by others that have the same longings. When you show yourself to be friendly, you will begin to gain the friends that say, “I choose you”.
